Women might experience early menopause. These tumors can also turn into cancers of the ovary. Every 2 out 100 women develop ovarian tumors, and there are no age boundaries. Pelvic inflammatory disease, also known as PID, is an infection that can happen inside the ovaries. This causes the ovaries, uterus and the fallopian tubes to swell up. This can result in extreme pain in the ovary and around the pelvic region. However, this disease is not very common and is mostly transmitted through repeated unprotected sexual contact with more than one person.
